Andrew Eagles, Managing Director
Andrew has worked for several years at the Housing Corporation on housing issues. He has spoken at numerous national conferences on everything from modern methods of construction to housing quality indicators. Andrew commissioned the Cyril Sweett Code for Sustainable Homes Costing Research with English Partnerships. He is a Code for Sustainable Homes and NHER accredited assessor. In addition to advising on existing homes housing policy Andrew sat or is sitting on the following steering groups: BRE Sustainability Board; Senior Steering Group on the Code for Sustainable Homes; Housing Corporation Gold Award; internal champion on sustainability.

Richard Lupo, Senior Sustainability Consultant
Richard is a Chartered Environmentalist and Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). At Sustainable Homes he has carried out over 30 full sustainability assessments of social landlords using the SHIFT format. He has also facilitated the design of housing stock energy efficiency improvement strategies using the CROHM format. Other consultancy work includes calculating and making recommendations for improvement of office carbon emissions and business fleet emissions. In addition, he is an experienced Code for Sustainable Homes assessor.
Richard has trained and qualified over 300 Code for Sustainable Homes assessors as well as trained building professionals on Housing Quality Indicators and sustainable refurbishment.
At Imperial College London Richard developed a waste silt recycling process, gained an MSc in Environmental Engineering and studied the impact of new regulations on hazardous waste disposal.
In the titanium, copper fittings and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries Richard reduced process losses, optimised materials usage, carried out environmental surveys, implemented recycling procedures and monitored effluent discharges.

Leonie Cooper, Sustainability Consultant
Leonie has been working in the field of social housing working for many years, working for Housing Associations, Housing Co-operatives, Local Authorities and ALMOs. These have included Wandle HA, English Churches Housing Group (part of Riverside Housing Group), 1066 HA (part of AmicusHorizon) and the Longhurst Housing Group.
She has spoken at Conferences and delivered training on a range of subjects to staff, board members and residents. Leonie has also worked on behaviour change and sustainability projects with the London Sustainability Exchange, Thames Water, Resident’s Associations and Business People. She brings a wealth of knowledge of both housing and sustainability to Sustainable Homes.

John Stapleton, Head of External Affairs
John has been appointed to a new position at Sustainable Homes, charged with leading and developing our influencing, policy and campaigns work.
He has worked in public affairs and policy for around 8 years, most recently at the Arts Council. Having spent 3 years as parliamentary researcher to an MP, he worked in the housing sector on design policy and the Building for Life initiative at the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), and later as an adviser to the then Housing Minister Margaret Beckett.
Bill Wright, Sustainability Officer
William, also known as Bill, comes to Sustainable Homes with a background in Renewable Energy, having gained a BSc in Environmental Science from Kingston University and an MSc in Renewable Energy from the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales.
He has helped to implement vocational training courses for renewable energy technicians on the EU’s ‘Transfer of Innovation’ programme, and also worked as a Solar PV designer and installer. He recently completed an internship with an energy savings charity in North London looking in particular at homes in fuel poverty, and at energy efficiency in schools.
Robert Amoroso, Marketing & Communications Officer
Robert joined Sustainable Homes having completed a Specialised Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Environmental Management from York University in Toronto, Canada. Robert also completed his Green Advantage (Commercial/Residential) certification, further enhancing his understanding of sustainability within the built environment. With his passion for sustainability, strong work ethic and ability to adapt to new roles, Robert brings with him new perspectives, while maintaining the warm and diverse composition of the team – being from Trinidad and Tobago.
In his role at Sustainable Homes, Robert leads on the maintenance of the company website, ensuring an excellent customer experience and communication with visitors through various media. Robert also supports our activities through our best-practice programme SHIFT, bespoke consultancy work and coordination of national conferences.

Begum Bidik Nash, Sustainability Assistant
Begum is a mechanical engineer. She also has an M.Sc. in Sustainable Energy Technologies and Management with Distinction (Brunel University).
Previously, Begum assisted European clients on waste management, solar energy, energy efficiency and other issues.
Begum is now assisting Bill in carrying out the National Energy Study - a behaviour change study of 500 homes across the UK.
Magdalena Bilinska, Sustainability Officer (SHIFT)
Magda holds a BSc in Environmental Science, a M.Sc. in Environmental Management for Business (Cranefield University) and a MSc in Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management (University of York).
Magda has been a great addition to the Sustainable Homes team, assisting with training events, conferences and SHIFT assessments.
An interesting fact - Magda is a seriously excellent Irish dancing!
Amanda Gregor, Sustainability Intern
Amanda holds a Bachelors in Sociology and Anthropology (Glasgow University) and a M.Sc. in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science (Lund University, Sweden).
Amanda assisted in the research of the LCCP publication ‘Your Social Housing in a Changing Climate’ and assesses social landlords for sustainability using SHIFT. Amanda is currently developing Sustainable Homes e-learning platform: Sustainable Homes Academy.
Previously Amanda coordinated a week-long event promoting best practice sustainability projects across the built environment in London. She also worked in environmental consultancy focusing on land remediation in Scotland.
Will Roberts, Finance Director
Will joined the Hastoe Group in 2007 where he was Head of Finance for three years before taking the position of Finance Director in 2010. Will has extensive experience in the Housing and Private Sector as demonstrated by his senior management positions at First Wessex Housing Group and Moat Housing Group. Prior to that he worked for a private property investment company, based in London, for five years. He qualified as a chartered accountant with the accountancy firm Deloitte.
Angelica Kowlaska, Finance Officer
Angelica is responsible for preparing the management accounts and providing financial analysis as required for Sustainable Homes and Hastoe, whilst assisting the Management Accountant and Head of Finance with month end processes. She is currently progressing through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Qualification.
Caroline Begg, Finance Officer
Caroline is responsible for inputting invoices, setting up new suppliers, accounts payable and reconciling supplier statements for Sustainable Homes and the Hastoe Group.
Julie Smith, Head of Human Resources
Julie manages and leads the Human Resources Team in providing a tailored, Group-wide HR and Facilities service - which includes support and advice to Sustainable Homes and the Hastoe Group.
Worked as a Housing Officer managing a patch of Housing Association properties in the South London area. As Rachel’s career progressed, she took on the role of Housing Manager managing a team of front line housing staff. Since joining Sustainable Homes, Rachel has been involved in organising SHIFT and training events, assisting with Greening Hastoe objectives and learning about the Code for Sustainable Homes.
