In our team we have Code for Sustainable Homes assessors, NHER assessors, energy experts, strategy experts and trainers who are leaders in their fields. The team has knowledge of lower carbon new build, existing buildings and effective strategies. Together we are leading the change.

Andrew Eagles, Managing Director - Andrew has worked for several years at the Housing Corporation on housing issues. He has spoken at numerous national conferences on everything from modern methods of construction to housing quality indicators. Andrew commissioned the Cyril Sweett Code for Sustainable Homes Costing Research with English Partnerships. He is a Code for Sustainable Homes and NHER accredited assessor. In addition to advising on existing homes housing policy Andrew sat or is sitting on the following steering groups: BRE Sustainability Board; Senior Steering Group on the Code for Sustainable Homes; Housing Corporation Gold Award; internal champion on sustainability.
Jamie Abbott, Training & Business Manager – Jamie is taking over from Maeve Adams during her maternity leave and brings to the team international green building and project management expertise. He recently led a substantial policy development project in Canada focussed on stimulating environmental investment in the private rental market. In the UK he has been involved in the delivery of the Mayor of London’s Home Energy Efficiency Programme (HEEP) and has a broad experience in social housing. He has worked for five years in project management of regeneration and development schemes and has held previous roles in housing management, facilities and maintenance. He is an accredited BREEAM EcoHomes assessor and Home Energy Advisor and has recently contributed to the CSE consultation on energy justice and the EEPH Private Rental Sector Sub-Group.
Richard Lupo, Sustainability Consultant – Richard, fondly known by the rest of the team as just ‘Lupo’ has taken a lifelong interest in sustainability issues and has a passion for measuring - everything. Richard is a Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and a trainer of Code Assessors. He has a working understanding of sustainability issues gained from study for an MSc in Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London and from hands on research. Richard has recently completed a 2 year research project on recycling of construction and demolition waste within the UK which included a sustainability assessment. Prior to that, he has acted as Principal Contractor under Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations on an industrial installation project. He has also worked within the plumbing fittings manufacturing industry in the UK and Germany, developing new plumbing fittings and investigating their use on sites. George Rowberry – Sustainability Officer – George started his career at sustainable Homes as an intern and has been developing his skills within the company. After his internship he took on the role of Sustainability Officer. Whilst working on several projects, his main focus is on search engine optimisation and the improvement of Sustainable Homes’ online marketing potential. After studying environmental management at the University of Leeds, George has had two years experience working in sustainability for the built environment. Having worked in both the private and charity sectors, he has built up a sound understanding of sustainable practices. He is currently studying for a BSc in Building Surveying with the College of Estate Management, in order to further develop his expertise within the built environment. Rachel Walls - Sustainability Officer – After leaving University, Rachel entered the social housing sector, working as a Housing Officer managing a patch of Housing Association properties in the South London area. As Rachel’s career progressed, she took on the role of Housing Manager managing a team of front line housing staff. After 15 years, Rachel took a career break and went off to explore South America. When she returned, she decided it was time for a career change! She still had an interest in the social housing sector, and had always had an interest in sustainability so a move to Sustainable Homes was ideal. Since joining Sustainable Homes, Rachel has been involved in organising SHIFT and training events, assisting with Greening Hastoe objectives and learning about the Code for Sustainable Homes. Associates
Maeve Adams, - Maeve has over 7 years' experience of providing facilitation and training for organisations and communities on often complex and contentious sustainability issues: nuclear security, renewables, low carbon innovation and corporate responsibility; building capacity in the corporate and government sectors, and empowering communities. She is a qualified Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor and licensed trainer. Maeve is really curious about why people do the things they do, and how we can use our knowledge to engage people in creating a more sustainable future. She’s also worked as a bankswoman and chippy, but that’s another story…
Malsara Thorne - After 12 years as a Director of a niche sector new media recruitment firm, Malsara decided to change her career, and focus on sustainable development in the built environment. In 2009, she gained a Diploma in Interior Design at the London College of Communication specialising in sustainable design solutions, showing that sustainable design could be eco friendly without compromising on style. She is a qualified Code for Sustainable Homes assessor. Malsara is currently working in partnership with an award winning architectural practice who specialise in sustainable development and retro fitting. As a Consultant SHIFT Assessor for Sustainable Homes she is responsible for assessing the green credentials of housing associations who have joined the SHIFT membership programme.

Barry Smith - Barry is a Senior Consultant to Sustainable Homes and the Director of urbanfox consultancy, an independent consultancy covering all aspects of sustainable business practices, environmental best practice in the built environment and community development. Barry established urbanfox consultancy following a career in senior management in social housing.
Alan Pither - Since 1998 Alan has worked as an energy efficiency consultant and trainer, offering a wide range of services to local authorities, housing associations and other organisations. Alan has over 20 years experience of working in the energy efficiency field, and in recent years has been increasingly involved in renewable energy projects. He has extensive experience of environmental assessment, having been a BREEAM assessor since 1990.
