New sustainable housing superhero arrives to cut carbon!

Claire and Andrew are very happy to announce that Ava Eagles swam into the world 9 50am on the 3rd of January 2012. A wonderful start to the new year.
Some clients and colleagues have asked for quite few details. I thought I would set these out here. We were instructed by the midwife to go to the hospital at midnight for a check on the progress of the labour. Claire was having contractions at 3min intervals.
Claire then progressed well using the TENS machine, breathing and a
new technique called SSHG (swearing and severe hand grabbing). She was lucky enough to gain a birthing pool at 6 30am. After quite a few focused efforts Ava arrived at about 9 50am. We can not be sure but Claire is adamant it was backstroke Ava was doing as she arrived.
Celebrations included champagne, some silly dancing and a few tears if truth be told.
Claire had two nights in hospital to gain some advice about breastfeeding. They also wanted to run some tests. My two girls are now home. Both are well. The staff at Kings College Hospital were tremendous throughout. Thank you for all your help, at times it was quite forceful. It was always useful!
Ava is eight pounds, with blue eyes, brown hair and a good set of lungs. She seems really happy though we already get the feeling that sometimes she thinks we are both a bit hopeless.
A huge thank you for all the cards and texts. The photo shows Ava in what I think maybe her superhero flying position!
The experience as I am sure many of you know was quite special. I am hugely indebted to my wonderful partner Claire for being so brilliant in bringing Ava into this world.
Wishing you all of the best for the start of your year. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
