Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor Training

Sustainable Homes is one of the first organisations outside of BRE to be licenced to run Code assessor training.  The BRE courses are quickly over subscribed, therefore Sustainable Homes is pleased to be an alternative source of training at a very competitive price. 

Our 3 day training course has been designed to qualify people to undertake assessments of newly constructed domestic properties under the Code for Sustainable Homes. The Code covers nine categories of sustainable design including: • Energy and CO2 Emissions  • Water  • Materials  • Surface Water Run-off  • Waste  • Pollution  • Heath and Wellbeing  • Management  • Ecology

Days 1 & 2
We cover each of these categories in-depth over the first two days of the course, combining theory with practical workshops.

Day 3
On the third day, delegates practise use of the ‘calculator tools’ that they will be using when carrying out assessments.There follows a period of approximately one month for home study.

Day 4
On the fourth day delegates receive some further training about the post-construction assessment process and sit a paper and computer-based multiple-choice exam, which on passing will result in Qualified Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor status.

Once delegates have successfully qualified they must join an Approved Accreditation Scheme to become a licensed Code assessor and submit assessments for audit.

Sustainable Homes aims to educate people and inspire them to contribute pro-actively to a low carbon future. To this end, we also make presentations during the training about the background to low carbon housing, and allow time for delegates to discuss the issues that are important to them, such as future policy direction.

Sustainable Homes uses leading trainers and accredited training materials. 

The fee for the training is £900.  The cost of the exam, if booked at the same time as the training is £350, otherwise it is £450.  All prices are exclusive of VAT.  For details of courses please see the events listed below.
